Go For It

go for it

You know what it’s like. You can pretend for so long to be comfortable and satisfied with what you’re doing, but every so often, someone or something reminds you that you are worth considerably more and you should be aiming much higher. What you’re doing right now looks sensible and on paper it seems to figure out, you gain mass approval and there is little to no movement in your life. But that centered part of you yearns for more and it wills you on. Continue reading “Go For It”

Happiness

I am always attracted to and promote the concept of happiness. This idea is relatively skewed by society in general; as the general idea has been somewhat perverted by the world at large. Primarily it is due to the fact that we seek external factors to appease us; this is falsely mistaken for happiness. The external is completely subjective and arguable as to what “it” is. Take for instance the idea that you have that you may be happy with a certain home. Consider the fact that someone without a home at all might be content with air conditioner or heat.  You would both be “happy” with very different things. But what if you got said house, only to have it catch fire or succumb to some other disaster. Question whether or not you are happy enough, internally, to deal with this. “Things” are fleeting.

My life is not a sob story;  it is an example that happiness can be found anywhere it is sought. I have dealt with myriad of trials and tribulations, many to count.I have had plenty of reasons to be angry. But you know what? I  realized awhile ago, I could either wallow in misery and be unhappy (which felt horrible) or I could move forward.

Happiness is a choice you make internally, it doesn’t just appear. Yes, we may have moments of joy in our lives, but if we are not truly happy, they may not persevere. When stripped to nothing but yourself, are you truly grateful for and happy with what you have? If you are not, start working on it 🙂

You Are Fine. They Are Not

cold

Take this moment, then replace it. Turn it so it fits, releases and sits. It was unsteady and rocking, now it is stable and eternal. Their moments are colossal and uncontrolled, spilling and temporary.

You are fine. They are not.

Smile in initial meeting, offer your hand in grace and in respect. Receive an icy gaze and a cold, dampened temper.

You are fine. They are not.

Express freely and discuss passion, poetry, daily imperfections and opinions. Observe them clam up and become enclosed without identity.

You are fine. They are not.

Be willing and grateful, offering and the first to stand in. See them sit in solitary silence.

You are fine. They are not.

Speak out and be upright and a flexible, deepened knight. Notice how they remain reluctant and uptight, rigid and firm.

You are fine. They are not.

They whine, depress, drag and sink. You state in an honest, uplifting mission, daring and afloat.

You are fine. They are not.

They drone, bore, wear and remain. You keep, share, preserve and leave.

You are fine. They are not.

They have nowhere else to be. You simply be anywhere.

You are fine. They are not.

They dwindle. You twinkle. They want what is you. You they are not, and you are not them.

You are fine. They are not.

Separation & Community

Caravan_Camp_site_isle_of_w

To seek liberation from the stresses and strains placed on us by the egotistical wills of society, we find solace through separation. Where community inspires us to join together for a common goal, that being the obliteration of constructs that cut us off from our eternal spirit, separation reinforces the idea that we have no purpose other than to exist in solitude without making changes to the status quo.

There is healthy and unhealthy separation. An example of healthy separation would be disconnection from the overwhelming nature of the materialistic world and finding peace by spending time by ourselves, thus rediscovering our sense of spirit, our skills and our place in the community to use them. An example of unhealthy separation would be living in fear of one another, the fear of being sued, the fear of causing offence, the fear of self-expression, going into full-blown, ‘batter down the hatches’ mode and riding out the imaginary storm.

The table below simplifies this idea:

Separation Community
Positive A meditative walk Fun and humour
Negative Hours of mindless TV Sapping conversation

~

In the sense of positive and negative, here are some examples of separation and community in action, from my own experiences and what I have observed of others:

Separation
Spending hours doing something unproductive and self-enclosed, not contributing anything stimulating or rewarding to others.
Working additional over-time to the point where there is no energy left to focus on friends and family, and their needs are ignored
Living the fantasy of egotistical self-indulgence where everyone is a perceived enemy until proven otherwise
We are robots designed to carry out the work of our paymasters and we have no purpose other than to feed the machine
There is no life after this world. This is the only chance we get. We are accidental

~

Community
Joining together with like minds to discuss important spiritual subjects, to share laughter, stories and fun
Doing things for another person without expecting anything in return, and seeing the positive affect the action has
Living in connection with spirit and seeing yourself in others as well as in all surrounding objects
We are the reflections of the love in each other’s persona affecting our own image
This is close to reality, but the embodiment of spirit is pure reality. We have infinite chances. We are intended

~

Let us imagine a world, a bit like the beach in the picture, where we are free to express our delight at being, where we can live in harmony with those around us, recognising each other as members of one distinct and intended family, where no person is left behind, and each is allowed to give and take, to share and be acknowledged. In the world’s natural state, it exists in a constant state of love, and no matter how hard we try egotistically to change this for our own selfish endeavours, the world will maintain its balance, with or without our influence.

Speaking is a lesson in learning how to listen;

Listening is a lesson in learning how to speak.

Those who always speak don’t always listen;

Those who always listen don’t always speak.

2

A working society is a society that gains and therefore works

A society working purely for material gain works against society

3

Help yourself, but first, help others to help themselves, and then you will automatically be helping yourself

4

A nation is similar to a club. It has members who abide by its identity, rules and customs that make it unique.

A club can easily be transformed into its weapon form – the club;

Excluding and elitist, held high and proud, and brutally brought down to attack and suppress an outsider.

A nation of individuals must take steps to avoid becoming the club.

5

Constantly examining the past breeds depression

Constantly examining the future breeds speculation

The relief for both is to live presently anticipating

6

True love is like when two sets of eyes meet with instant recognition preceding passion;

They penetrate and merge together, yearning for touch;

The two souls blend and experience endlessness in the transient moment.

Trying to say hinders the spoken waterfall

When speech is effortless, you are riding the waterfall

Simultaneously conquering fear and expressing delight

A Presence In The Corner

homeless

I am the man who ignored you in the street

One of multiple cast iron faces hissing cool air

In a swarming sea of indifferent absorption

A shade of pretending to your suffering

 ~

I am the man who should kneel in your place in regret

Whose heart turned bitter and disconnected

Against a moment of realisation that I could never erase my passing

Leaving an imprint of my ignorance drying tenderly in place

 ~

The faces and eyes gaze and glaze and gloss over

The point where mind and spirit cross over

I feel your poverty cling to the greatest riches in your eyes

I feel your complexity against the simpleness of our lies

 ~

Giving us joy so you seldom receive

Living humbly for us so we don’t have to believe

Cleaning our blackened minds and our clothes that deceive

Our torn up shirts and hearts on our sleeve

 ~

Praying for crumbs while we take your possessions

In shelter of mind you have my affection

With a return to replace cruelly snatched protection

Please be shielded from our misjudgment, misgiving, misdirection

 ~

We have lost our human way, you have found the human plight

We live the ego dream til we awake to loving light

I return to the site against the swarming passing throng

I come to find you, feed you, know you, give my soul but you have gone
